VPN + Anti-Malware + Stop Tracking + AdBlock in One App? VPN Unlimited Made This Possible

Today we are thrilled to announce a major update of VPN Unlimited. Now our well-trusted security service features Anti-Malware, Stop Tracking, and AdBlock. Think it’s impossible? Well, for others it may be a pie-in-the-sky, but not for us. We are the first, who managed to put these services all together into our brand new feature, KeepSolid DNS Firewall. This is a vpn_gandelf_blogcustomizable tool that will provide you an additional layer of online security and privacy.

Tons of annoying ads, malware, and malicious websites are regularly stealing your personal data. ISP’s, governments, and hackers are constantly spying on you and tracking every your step online. Enough! Months of development, thousands of code lines, close cooperation with outsource communities and freedom fighters. Finally, we found a unique 3-in-1 solution that perfectly works on all available platforms.

What is Firewall?

Let’s start with the basics. According to Wikipedia, a firewall is a network security system that monitors and controls the incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules. It establishes a barrier between a trusted, secure internal network and another outside network that is assumed not to be secure or trusted. This prevents unauthorized users from accessing private networks connected to the internet. Also, it is a reliable tool against cyber criminals who use various techniques to deliver dangerous malware to your devices, while you are surfing the web.

What is DNS?

DNS, or Domain Name System, is a comprehensive translation system that manages names of websites and other internet domains. It serves as a phone book, matching meaningful website names to the associated numerical IP addresses. This makes networks and machines clearly understand your request, and present exactly the results you expect. In other words, DNS is a server-based software designed to store a vast library of records that can be easily shared.

There is one “But.” When using a default DNS service, the requests are sent to your ISP’s server. This means that you will definitely face a DNS leak. As a result, all your online activities will be available to any concerned party to monitor and track. To prevent such scenario, it is recommended to use a VPN client with a built-in DNS leak protection, like VPN Unlimited. In this case, DNS requests will be routed through an encrypted tunnel directly to a secure VPN server, protecting your online privacy. Moreover, our security solution has plenty of servers all over the world, enabling you to resolve DNS queries much faster.

What is KeepSolid DNS Firewall?

VPN Unlimited offers you a next-generation KeepSolid DNS Firewall feature. Combining smart technologies together in one security solution, we offer you a new, still unattainable for others, level of online protection. Besides encrypting your web traffic and providing you a free access to your favorite online services and websites, now our VPN service is able to:

  • Block malicious websites, apps, which can harm your device
  • Enable you to securely and anonymously surf the web and use apps without annoying ads
  • Prevent any kind of intrusion into your private life, while you are online
  • Keep out modern threats, such as man-in-the-middle attacks
  • Block domains of the web tracking systems and advertising networks

Also, our new feature enables you to create personal black and white lists with the domains you want to block or unblock respectively. You can add up to 100 domains or IPs per list.

Note: If the KeepSolid DNS Firewall is enabled, some websites can be unavailable or their appearance can be changed. This happens because our Firewall blocks the URLs which are included in our black lists. In case you are absolutely sure that the websites you want to access are safe and secure, you can add their domain names to your personal white list to unblock them.

Stop disclosing your viewing habits

You may think “Why do I need an additional Stop Tracking tool, if a VPN service conceals my real IP address, and no one can track my online activities?” Well, there is a deal of truth in your question. The VPN service does conceal your actual IP, providing you with a virtual one. However, in our digital world, information technologies are developing at a faster rate than ever before. Same deal with surveillance technologies. Hence, corporations, which use them, can find some ways to link your footprints on websites you visit.

This may lead to misuse of the received data for some commercial or other purposes, and you might be anything but pleased about that, right? We offer you a perfect solution, the Stop Tracking option, that will double your online privacy protection, and prevent any unauthorized parties from monitoring your web activities.

Get rid of all those annoying ads

Fed up with irritating commercials? Our AdBlock feature allows you to enjoy the ad-free web surfing experience again. It blocks the great majority of ads not only on websites, but in apps as well. Moreover, this is the first AdBlock that is available on iOS! This is not a joke. Simply enable the KeepSolid DNS Firewall, and play your favorite games, do some web research, or communicate with friends without distracting your attention no matter what device you use.

Just one click of a button will greatly increase your online security and privacy. Update your app right away, and say goodbye to all possible online threats, including fraud and phishing attacks, personal data hijacking, online activity monitoring, and many others.

This is only the beginning! We have already planned to add more security options to our sophisticated firewall solution in the future updates. If you find any other features you would like to see built next, let us know in the Comments section below. Your feedback is highly appreciated.

  1. Interesting proposition. How is this solution managed technically speaking? What are the black-list sources?

    • Hello Questionner,

Thanks for your interest in our latest major update.
We have global white and black lists that are updated daily from different sources. Moreover, you can create your own black and white lists that are of a higher priority than the general ones. Also, white lists have a higher priority than black lists. All computationally intensive work is executed on our secure servers, and not on users’ devices.
Technically, it blocks domains that are used by spoofing/malware code, tracking services, and ad networks. We do not inject any content in customers’ requests, no additional headers are added.

  2. please build you own antivirus, is more effective to support you firewall.
